Great job on the diorama. I like the water effects in particular.

    Yes!

State Guard markings could be applied in low-vis form, like other insignia.

As soon as I saw that this heli was available I happily ordered two kits - at that bargain price, why not? I love helis, and I've been looking forward to getting an H-34 for a long time. One will be a Laotian machine - I printed some RLAF roundels some time ago, knowing I'd use them eventually - the other I'm not sure about.
I don't know what I want to use as mesh for the cowling. Maybe I could cut up some brass or steel pipe screens?

I'm a patriotic American, but I overwhelmingly build my models (tanks and vehicles, and aircraft) in the markings of small, even obscure air forces, armies and militia. I guess it just boils down to wanting to build something that's a little different.
