1/32 F-104A from F-104C kit?
18 May 2013 - 11:00 PM
Making the X-15 in 1/32 at the moment, and keep seeing pictures of the F-104A chase planes which look awesome. In 1/32 there only seems to be a few C models and a bunch of G/S kits.
I am not overly concerned with minor details, this will be just be a cabinet filler, but is the C kit the easier kit to make an A model from?
The G model kits are more numerous and cheaper, is it a simple matter of changing the rudder on the G to make an A model?
Thanks in advance, and please keep in mind I'm not overly concerned about small details, no rivet counting on this kit. -

Thanks in advance -
Polish F-16D NATO Tiger Meet 2011
12 January 2013 - 05:48 AM
I would love to make this aircraft in 1:32 and am doing the neccessary research at the moment.
F-16D
What I cannot figure out is the text and/or symbol on the aft fuselage side. Looks to read "6 TH FS", which would make sense as this is the Polish unit flying the aircraft..
Can anyone confirm this and/or provide more info/photos on this particular jet?
Much appreciated. -
Aires Wheel Bays for 1/32 Trumpeter F-14 Tomcats
30 December 2012 - 04:30 AM
Received newsletter from Hannants saying these are in stock as new arrivals. There is also a picture on the Luckymodel web page. But no mention (that I can find) on the Aires web page?
I'm ordering mine regardless! Saves a fair amount of stratch building. All we need now are the Zacto intakes... -
Converting Trumpeters A-10A to an A-10C
13 November 2012 - 09:45 PM
I am looking at making this conversion shortly. From what I can see the following mods are needed to not only convert to the updated C model, but also basic kit improvements.
If you can see any errors or omissions, please edit the list.
- Gun gas extraction panels (LH side of fuselage under front canopy) that come in the kit are the old 'reverse scoop' style ones, replaced with screens some time ago.
- Two MFDs and widened instrument coaming to accommodate.
- HOTAS
- 'T' style antennae (SADL?) on spine immediately aft of GPS dome
- Ability to carry Sniper pod, which in modelling terms is invisible.
- Formation lights on wingtip, fin and spine aft of cockpit
- Move the compressor fan aft
Thanks in advance,
Steve
