Is there one? Does anybody know?

The BT-67 is the updated, re-engined (with turboprops) Douglas Dakota for the new century.

YOW!

You guys are the best. I'm such a novice that I'm no where near ready for that, but it's nice to know that it is available when I'm ready (I hope). I love that USFS fireplane livery, too...HOT!

There are a couple of simpler looking conversions for other turbo prop powered Dakotas by heritage aviation out of the uk. Dart Dakota this one is for a BEA RollsRoyce Dart powered Dakota from way back when and one for the newish SAAF turboprop powered Dakota Here both in 1/72.

I meant add earlier, if you have an interest in fire bombers you should check out Lone star models hye has a nice range of fire bomber conversions, and DRAW decal make markings for many of them.

I've seen photographs of some camouflaged Colombian BT-67 gunships. I believe they had three at one point. They may still have them. That would be a great conversion to do. It would go with my Soviet Li-2NB night bomber (Soviet licence-built DC-3), and my AC-47 Spooky as a collection of decidedly non-civilian Dakotas. I do have to admit that American fire bomber looks sharp.

Regards,

Jason

Aaron, I figured it was hertitage you were thinking of. But a note; the SAAF turbo Dak is not the same AC as the BT-67(C-47T) the SAAF bird is a C-47TP, it has differnt engine nacelles a shorter stretch and standard Dakota wing tips (the BT-67's are extended and pointed)

Cheers

Sorry for beeing the bearer of bad news: The SAAF C-47 TP crashed just before Christmas, killing all on-board.

Sorry to hear that. I had stumbled across some pics of the wreckage but I hadn't known the fate of the crew. Was that the only turbo Dak? I was undedr the impression there were more.

Yeah, I see that. I'm guessing that is why I never bought it. My plans for a BT-67 is for the USFS smokejumper plane so that other link is perfect for my purposes. I have seen the S2T conversion, but didn't know he had a website or had added more conversions. Added to my links.

El Salvador Air Force also has the BT-67, they modified 4 in the late 80s and 90s, they were painted overall Gunship Gray, and later was changed in a overall White with blue stripes scheme.
If you want photos, i have a lot of it.

Rod.
