Hey all,

I've got a Hobby Boss M4A3 (75mm) that I kinda started slapping together and I'm wondering if anyone does aftermarket tracks in 48th? Also, does anyone do a 105mm barrel for the Sherman?

Thanks!

Jon

I could find nothing for the barrel in 1/48 - you want 1/35 or 1/72 yes but no 1/48 that I could find.

Here is a 105 option.

Tracks there are some options but you never said what type of track you where looking for?

Thanks Tank!

Wow, that Easy 8 is pretty impressive! Not really looking to do that massive a conversion, so I may just get a 75mm barrel and be done with it. Haven't decided a specific tank I'm going to build just yet, but more than likely it'll be a 3rd Armored vehicle from the battle of Sterpigny in January 1945. I've got a few pics of their vehicles that my grandfather took just after the fighting was over.

Just found the Tank Workshop 105mm turret. Order placed!

Gotta get some tracks for it now. I'm thinking that I may do a run of WWII SP howitzers from 75mm up to 155mm.

My googlefu must of failed me. Good shop, I got a pair of wading trunks in 1/35. Look forwarded to seeing them built.

Why 1/48 and not 1/35?

Gotta be in scale with everything else I've got! I'm on an FA/ADA kick now since we moved out to Oklahoma. I'm in the middle of a Gaso.line M1 40mm bofors right now and it's a great little kit. Just primed it last night. I'm now contemplating doing an M8 HMC (Kengi Models), M7 Priest and M12 155mm SP Howitzer (both Gaso.line conversions). I've also got a Tamiya jeep and deuce and a half (building as an M27 bomb truck)underway.

Black Dog has quite a few 48th accessory kits for stowage and whatnot. Their stuff is really nice.

Ooh! Thanks for finding Tank Workshop, they've got some great stuff.

Also, Hauler has some really nice 1/48 PE and accessories.

I've gotten Hauler bits from both Quarter Shop and Track48. Happy customer! :)

There's also CMK for some Sherman conversions and other resin vehicle conversions and kits that would work well next to an aircraft, such as their fuelers. Another source of resin conversions and vehicles is Accurate Armour's own line of kits--these are British though, so further afield of your original request.

Beyond Gaso.line's metal barrels, there are also Lion Marc Model Designs, RB Models, and FineMolds (this last site is Japanese only). I picked up some Lion Marc Sherman barrels from the LHS; their 76MM M1 barrel greatly improved over the plastic barrel HB provided for their M4A3 76(W)--installed quite easily. I'm looking forward to an opportunity to try RB, as their products look quite exquisite, but I have the LM barrels for all the Sherman variants still in my stash; Pershing too.

Also check out Master Models for their aircraft MG barrels that may be appropriate.
