I was watching the video in the link provided and I saw a very unusal aircraft in the tarmack as the 747 did a low pass.
It can be seen at around 35 seconds in in the foreground.
What plane is it?
Thanks in advance.
George

It's a ATL-98 Carvair (converted DC-4 with a nose door)

There's one still hauling freight here in the States..according to the interwebz, it's the last flying example of the type. I snapped this pic at Willow Run Airport near Detroit a few years ago. Unfortunately I couldn't get any closer, and the plane was backlit by the late afternoon sun.

Here's a better shot of the nose art I found online. This would be a fun project to do in 1/144 if I could make the decals!

It's an oddly graceful looking plane, considering how weird it looks too.

As I recall, Airfix did a kit of one of these in the 1960s of a similar car transport. The transports were somewhat popular for flights between the UK and mainland Europe for those people that wanted to take their cars with them (such as was seen in the James Bond film Goldfinger).
