Just awesome! Looks great, I am actually ever so slowly building this same kit, but im a newbie so there are no aftermarket decals and parts.. going with w/e i find in-box. Just wondering why you chose those colours rather than the light gray and medium gray?

Those are the correct colours for Canadian Hornets, they're not painted in the standard USN colour scheme that most Hornets wear but rather share a basic scheme with the RAAF Hornets. The colour callouts in the Academy kit are correct, with the FS36327 Grey-Blue over FS36375 Grey for the Canadian and Australian Hornets and the USN-style FS36320 over FS36375 scheme for the Spanish Hornet( Which is the scheme you mentioned).

Roger, thanks mawz. I too am going with the FS36327 over FS36375 scheme.
I have a really newbie question, but you might be able to help me out. On the landing gear doors there is a red trim painted along the edge... would you mask and spray that? Or just hand paint it? I dont trust my hand painting skills enough to make a crisp line. Advice?

The top colour FS is actually FS35237; bottom is FS36375 as above. If you want to paint the false canopy, it is FS36118.
Nice job on your little Hornet escort!
