Scott has posted in this GB's proposal thread a lot of wonderful pics he took while he served in the AF at Ramstein. I thought it would be coll to post them here too, so they won't get buried in the General Discussion forum. Scott kindly agreed, so here they are.

I will start with his selection of Ramstein F-4E's:

"Not the clearest photo, but the only one I took of a Zulu F-4E with AIM-7F Sparrows. Note the Sparrow is gray"

Moving on to Spangdahlem F-4E's and F-4G's:

"I took this first photo of 69-0280 on May 18, 1984 at Zaragoza AB, Spain. This Weasel crashed a few days later, on May 23 on the Bardenas Real bombing range. The crew got out okay."

"This F-4G had 34092 dark green in place of the usual 34079, which is pretty darned rare:"

Moving on to F-15's. Starting with Bitburg:

Posted Image

Posted Image

Posted Image

Posted Image

Posted Image

"This F-15 had a midair with a German owned Beech Baron. The F-15 was on Zulu Alert, and was scrambled to intercept the Baron when the Beech got too close to the East German border. The weather was instrument conditions, and when the F-15 tried to get close enough to the Baron to get a positive ID and to warn the Baron pilot to turn around, the F-15 accidentally hit the Baron. Both aircraft made successful landings and amazingly no one was hurt. The F-15 recovered at Ramstein and sat in our maintenance hangar for almost a year before the depot was able to send a team to repair it. I took this photo after the jet was pulled out of the 526 TFS hangar and was about to be moved to the phase inspection hangar where they did the repairs. "

"This one was taken with my camera by a WSO in the 526 TFS at Decimommanu EOR. I asked him to take my camera up to shoot some air-to-air for me. Unfortunately he wasn't able to get any useable photos while airborne, but he did get this nice shot"
