Very nice, but the fin on the bottom is facing the wrong way. Thick end should be forward.

:bandhead2:  sigh.

thanks

picture time!

I got around to painting the other day and was able to get the airframe painted up. After I painted the gear doors, wells and assorted bits I realised that I forgot to do the actual gear so i will have to do a small paint job a little later. I have a feeling I got the fins wrong onthe tip tanks..but its too late now as they are already decaled..not too sure how I managed to miss that one.

Looking good! But you're right about the tankfins, the longer fins should point inwards, not outwards. :D

figures. I am bilding the "vikings" boxing so it doesn't include the tanks in the instructions..and for some reason my mind was convinced they went this way..and none of the pictures I could find in my refs had a clear view. luckily..I dont plan on entering this in any contests and 99.9% of people who will see it in my house will NEVER know...so I am happy.

Well here's one I see at contests and it wins, so I guess the Judges don't care.

Update time!!:

no pictures, but I have all the decals on and the weathering done. I am waiting to get the details of the AN-124 done so I can flat coat that, this and a Storch all at the same time. Few weeks maybe and I should have it all finished. Life can really get in the way sometimes.

Hi Sean.

The interior of the airbrake bays is normally green zinc chromite. Not silver. Also, on CF-104's they're always closed unless undergoing maintence. You won't find any photos of aircraft just sitting on the ground with those brakes open unless some tech has his head stuck inside.

Looking good though.. building Starfighters can be a bit addictive. I probably have more CF-104 kits in my stash (in various scales) than any other aircraft.

thanks
David

Cool build! I really like that green underside of the wing, that's a nice touch. Congrats on finishing it.
