Are there any good paint charts out there that show good mixes and matches of Citadel paints to German WWII colors, both armour and aircraft?

The specific colors I'm wondering about are RLM 66, RLM 02, Panzer Gray, and the German tri-colour armour scheme.

What, you mean mithril silver, orc vomit and boltgun steel aren't good enough? ...

I have not seen any such mixing charts and the limited exposure I have had with Citagel paints leads me to believe there aren't going to be any direct matches. Since the Citadel range is directed towards war gamers I suspect there probably hasn't been enough use of them by aircraft modelers to generate interest to make mixing charts. I have learned that the shelf life of the Citadel paints I have purchased is rather short once the little container has been opened for for the first time. Apparently the seal isnt all that good when the lid is snapped down because mine dried out in about 12 months or so.

I had quite the opposite experience. I once reactivated a jar of pretty thick paint (Ultramarine Blue) with just a little bit of water and a thorough stirring.

Yep, that's been my experience as well. Had bottles of Mithril Silver that lasted several years.

cheers

Here's a site that allows you to cross ref Citadel with other colors.

Color match 1.0

It's not great, but it's something.

To answer your question though, I have used Rotting Flesh for RLM02, and Codex Grey for RLM66 and Panzer Grey (add some Chaos Black for taste :) ) Haven't used Citadel for the tri-color scheme......yet. :D

Rotting Flesh plus some blue makes a good match for RLM 02.
I'm using Adeptus Battlegrey plus some black for RLM 66.
For the tri-colour scheme, Desert Yellow lightened with white, Catachan Green darkened with black, and Scorched Brown seem to be good matches.

I have to re-check, but I think Hawk Turquois toned down could be used for russian helicopter cockpit green.

I've also had good luck reviving Citidel paints with distilled water. As long as the paint is still a bit soft it seems to be salvagable.

I haven't seen a chart for WW2 colors, but it does seem to have a fair bit of use with WW1 builders which surprised me, so there might be something out there.
