First impression is not to bad!! The Pids pylon looks great! Almost the same parts breakdown as the Tamiya kit...Gr Jan Plat

The D model forward fuselage is all wrong! There are some erroneous panel lines, but the mid to aft canopy sill extends at the wrong angle. From the mid point, the sill angles parallel to the ground and hence the canopy frame thickens in this area. Kinetic has the angle and canopy frame thickness the opposite way, actually making it thinner.

This looks very much like that Taiwanese 32nd D model conversion made for the Tamiya kit, which turned out to be pretty poorly done.

Too bad Tamiya did not have a D model out, as copying it would have yielded a more accurate result.
And they could have just copied the Hasegawa B/D canopy and saved themselves allot of work.

The Glare Shield looks too smal like it might be 1/72nd sale.

Curious if Kinetic will stop production to correct this as well?
Curt

Dear Curt,

Yes, that is the reason that D model will be 1 month delay. Could you supply more information about the incorrectness ? You can drop to my address at raymond@luckymodel.com

They look to be seperate parts just below the tank halves on the sprues. Maybe the result will be a clean tip without any misalignment when assembled?

Raymond, send me an e-mail and I'll help you out with references for this area. Or any other area you've got questions on.

Raymond a few questions for you regarding the DG/CJ, CG/CJ version. The Stiffner plates for the fuselage. Do you have any idea how Kinetic plans on doing them? Will it be PE or vynel cutouts? Would you know at all if the Cross Delt plates will fit on the Kinetic or is it still to early to ask that question? Thanks.

Is it just me or does it look like there's large dimples/sink marks in the rear of the base of the tail (top left of sprue)? As near as I can tell from the Modern Viper Guide, this area is prettly flat.

What's the latest news on this kit? It should be out next week sometime? How is the work on the two seat variant coming along?

Looking great! Can't wait for it to come out, especialy at $30 (inc S/H) per kit, looks like a F-16 with a weapons set included!

A thread has been started where it has been noticed that on the Lucky Models website BOTH Vipers are now listed as 'discontinued'....'Available' but 'discontinued'. I think Raymond may have to chime in as to what happened.

just curious
Matt
